The Zions Block project in downtown Vernal continues to advance with the warmer weather. Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion shares that the south parking lot and drive access is prepped and waiting for asphalt. “Asphalt paving operations will occur in mid April,” he says. “After parking lot striping, the parking lot will open up for use. Other project elements will be completed in the next few months including landscaping, shade structures, fencing, string lights, trash enclosure, utility screens and drip irrigation. Flowers will be planted after Memorial Day to finish out the project.” Many years of planning are now in the advanced stages as these projects transform the downtown area. Residents and visitors are encouraged to continue to support downtown businesses during construction disruptions.
