Whether work, play, or a combination of both, the Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra (UBYCO) go all in on whatever they are doing. A great example of this was over the summer when they made a quick trip to record one of their favorite orchestral pieces, “Simple Symphony”, at a recording studio in Provo. After that special experience they hurried up to Deer Valley’s outdoor amphitheater to watch the Utah Symphony. “The summer tour was really fun,” shares UBYCO principal violinist Laura Anderson. “It was great to work with the orchestral members at the recording studio where other popular musicians had also recorded. The trip was a unifying experience. It was inspiring to hear the Utah Symphony and helped me think about my musical goals. It was motivating to hear talented musicians and know that these experiences are available to us in Utah.” Since that experience, Laura and her fellow orchestra members have been working to prepare ‘A Traditional Christmas Concert’ for the community taking place December 11th at the Uintah High School Auditorium. Tickets for adults are $5 and all youth 17 and younger are free. For more information, call 702-875-2986.
