The extra late wildfire season allowed for a unique experience for the members of the Northern Utah Interagency Type 3 Incident Management Team on assignment with the Yellow Lake Fire. Utah Fire Info took a break from their usual wildfire updates to share about the unique experience that happened this month. “This interagency team has been extremely grateful for the support of the community— volunteering to wash firefighter’s laundry, signs and cards of gratitude, attendance at community meetings, and wonderful comments throughout the community and online,” they share. “As the Halloween holiday approached, the Northern Utah Team wanted to celebrate with the community to thank them for all the support. Firefighters and Team members rallied to host this rare Halloween-Fire event, using their own money to decorate the Incident Command Post and vehicles and purchase supplies for the occasion.” Families were then invited to the Command Post where kids trick-or-treated from fire engine to ambulance to fire vehicles. It was a great event to boost morale and strengthen the community during a difficult time.
