A woman was arrested last week in Duchesne County after allegedly tricking a hotel employee to give her a room and then refusing to leave for 3 days. Officers arrived at the Hanna Hilton Cafe and Bar where the reporting party explained that a woman by the name of Gina had been staying in a motel room while refusing to pay. Gina had originally told an employee that she had arranged with the owner to stay there for free in exchange for work and cleaning services. Assuming the claim was true, the employee let Gina into one of the rooms. Officers spoke directly with the owner who clarified that her claim was just not true and Gina did not have permission to be there. She had been asked to leave and told to leave but had refused. Officers were let into the room and encountered Gina who appeared to be under the influence of drugs. When asked if she used drugs she told the officer that she uses drugs all the time. Gina was given the option but refused to leave the room willingly and was placed under arrest. 51-year-old Gina Marie Nicholson is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Burglary and a variety of Misdemeanors, including drug charges, theft, and intoxication. Her initial appearance in court is scheduled for September 30th.
