Consequences for breaking the law can extend to those who were helping a criminal evade authorities which is the case in a recent arrest in Uintah County. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, officers were dispatched to assist Adult Probation as they served a Board of Pardons no bail warrant on a fugitive located at a Vernal address. The fugitive had already been secured in handcuffs outside the residence when the officer arrived. They were called to arrest 33-year-old Sunni Rochelle Rye for harboring the parole fugitive. The officer was told that Rye had been advised on multiple occasions that harboring a parole fugitive was a felony but still, she had concealed the fugitive in a crawl space located underneath the apartment. Rye was transported to the Uintah County Jail and booked on a charge of 3rd Degree Felony Obstructing Service of a Board of Pardon Warrant.
