Woman Arrested At Home After Leading Officers On High Speed Chase

A woman initially pulled over for speeding in Duchesne County took issue after being told she had a warrant for her arrest out of Wasatch County and led police on a high speed chase. On September 14th, 35-year-old Shantel Lynn Crismon was pulled over at approximately 11:42am for going 68mph in a 55mph zone. Crismon provided officers with an insurance card that had the make and model of her vehicle written in while the original vehicle type was colored over. It was also found that her Driver’s License was suspended and Crismon had a warrant for similar crimes in Wasatch County. When told of the warrant and that her vehicle was being impounded, Crismon began flailing her arms and muttering unrecognizable things. She then put the vehicle into gear and took off while the officer was at her window. The officer followed in his patrol vehicle and Crismon entered Roosevelt City limits where her speeds exceeded 110 mph and she passed many vehicles illegally. The officer terminated the chase due to safety. Officers traveled to her residence where Shantel Lynn Crismon was taken into custody. She has been charged with 3rd Degree Forgery and Failure to Stop at Command of Police and Misdemeanor Reckless Driving, Providing an Officer with False Personal Information, Driving on Denied License, and Operating a Vehicle without Insurance.
