In case the mellow weather has fooled you into thinking spring is knocking on the door, here’s a reality check. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Eastern Uinta Mountains. Uintah County Emergency Management is hoping to spread the word so that all can take precautions if traveling or those within the advisory area can be prepared. The advisory is in effect from 5:00am today to 8:00am on Tuesday and the cities of Manila and Dutch John are specifically listed as within the advisory area. Snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches are expected. There will also be wind gusts, possibly up to 35 mph. Those traveling north of Vernal and throughout the mountains should plan on icy and snow packed roads with areas of blowing and heavy snowfall impacting visibility. Weather.gov also shows a Winter Storm Warning in effect for the Yampa River Basin, including Rangely, Dinosaur, Craig, Hayden, and Meeker.
