Uintah County Emergency Management has provided information on a Winter Weather Advisory now in effect in northeastern Utah. According to the announcement, the Winter Weather Advisory is for the eastern Uinta Mountains with snow and blowing snow expected above 8500 feet. Total snow accumulations are estimated to be 4 to 8 inches with wind gusts as high as 45 miles per hour. The Advisory is in effect from 5am on Monday to 11am on Tuesday. Roads will likely be slick and hazardous, especially on bridges and overpasses, so travelers need to plan on icy to snow packed road conditions. Be sure to slow down and use caution while traveling. Before traveling through the Uinta Mountains, be sure to check conditions and change plans accordingly.
