It was an eerie feeling for many on late Thursday afternoon as smoke filled the sky from the West. Ashley National Forest answered the question of many explaining that this smoke was not from a new wildfire but caused by strong winds which increased fire activity on the East Fork Fire in Duchesne County. “We anticipate strong winds [Friday] as well as a cold front moving in,” shares Ashley National Forest. “Please continue to adhere to all closure orders. Safety is always our top priority and we appreciate your patience as we continue to fight this fire.” The October 22nd report stated that the East Fork Fire has reached 86,281 acres and is 69 percent contained.
