Rifle Elk season opens tomorrow and Ashley National Forest, DWR, and BLM staff will be in the Walmart parking lot in Vernal today to hand out motorized vehicle use maps and other information for those heading up the mountain. Look for the green OHV camping trailer with tables set up and come by anytime on Friday afternoon until about 5pm. Some reminders from Ashley National Forest include the following: Before doing anything else after getting your animal be sure to notch your tag; Remember all ebikes are only authorized on roads and trails that are open to motorized vehicles; And for those camping, do not burn pallets and other construction debris on the Forest. While there are no campfire restrictions on the Forest, please be sure your fire is dead before leaving camp for the day or heading home. And of course, pack in and pack out ALL trash!
