By now the patrons of the Duchesne Branch Library have heard of the upcoming temporary closure while a remodel of the entire building takes place. Thankfully, the library system staff will still provide some library services and activities while the building is closed and in the end, the community will enjoy upgrades and new amenities to the library itself. The middle portion of the building will house the Senior Center moving out of the Duchesne County Administration Offices and the library will be expanded some from its current layout. When it is complete the Duchesne Branch Library will have renewed flooring, a new 4-person study room for smaller groups to meet in, a reading corner with more seating and a faux-fireplace, an expanded public area in the History Center, dual entrances to the library in the west and north, fire suppression systems throughout the building, and an optional self-checkout station. The library, its community room, and the History Center will close for the remodel on March 31st.
