Vernal City recently invited the public to take an online survey as they are in the process of creating a new logo for the City. The survey received 439 responses with 57 percent of responses from Vernal City residents, 26 percent Unincorporated Uintah County residents, and 10 percent Naples City residents. The vast majority of those surveyed were long term residents of 11 to 29 years or 30 plus years. So what did the survey reveal? Well, the favorite thing about living in the Vernal area for those surveyed is the Small Town Feel closely followed by the Natural Scenery and Community Events. Of course, Dinosaurs, the Oil & Gas industry, and Outdoor Recreation are what come to mind when they think of Vernal, and in that order. Finally, among the remaining questions the survey asked about the favorite Vernal events for those surveyed. They could vote for more than one event so there were high votes for many events but the top spot went to the Dinah ’Soar’ Days & Hot Air Balloon Festival, followed by Holly Days, Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo, FreedomFest, Farmers Market, Hotel Vernal Haunt, Uintah County Fair, and the list goes on.
