Vernal City has welcomed a new officer to keep the streets safe and let us just tell you, he’s a GOOD boy! K9 Murph is the newest four-legged member of the Vernal City police department. Murph, alongside his partner, Officer BrayDee Nielsen, have recently completed training and certification in narcotics detection and apprehension. Welcome K9 Murph and thank you to Officer Nielsen and Murph for putting in the work to keep our streets safe. Another recent local K9 recruit joined the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office. K9 Sarik is a 15-month-old Belgian Malinois that is trained in drug detection and tracking. K9 Sarik and his handler, Deputy Cahill Oldham, make a great team and are already doing their part to keep local streets and neighborhoods safe!
