Utah’s Division of Water Resources has been issuing weekly watering guides to help Utah residents know what is recommended for watering while in drought conditions. Striking the balance can be difficult but the weekly watering guide can take the guesswork out of it. For the week of May 14th to May 20th, Duchesne and Uintah County are allowed 2 Irrigations a week while Daggett County is allowed one. One irrigation is equivalent to 20 minutes with pop-up spray heads or 40 minutes with impact rotor sprinklers. “The Weekly Lawn Watering Guide recommends watering based on weather patterns and evapotranspiration rates. The guide takes extensive data and simplifies it into how many days per week to water in each county. Following the guide helps avoid problems with pests and disease and reduces costs associated with overwatering,” shares the Division of Water Resources, “saving you time and money.”
