Wave of Light Event for Local Families That Have Lost a Child

A local mother is honoring and remembering her son in a special way all while inviting other local families who have experienced the loss of a child to join her. The 1st annual Wave of Light Event is being held October 15th at 7pm at the Freestone Walking Park in Vernal. Families are invited to come to the walking park in memory of their own pregnancy, infant, and child loss. Event organizer Teesha Gonzalez lost her son Quintien to illness when he was just 15 months old in 2018. “I would love to see the walking park filled with families there with me remembering the light my son showed the world and remember their babies and the light that they had!” shares Teesha. “Help us remember Quintien Gonzalez and other miscarriages, stillborns, infants and children that have left our world too soon.” The Gonzalez family started the charity ‘Quintien’s Warriors’ to first raise money for Quintien’s headstone as well as raise money now and into the future to help other local families with the expenses of a child loss. To raise money for this effort they are selling special solar lights that can be used at the Wave of Light event and then kept as a keepsake. The lights are $10 and can be personalized with a name or angel feather. Those interested in purchasing the special solar light can contact Teesha and it is best if they are ordered by the 13th so they are ready by the event on October 15th. Later orders are also welcomed. Families are welcome to bring their own lights to shine at the event as well. For more information, visit the Quintien’s Warriors Facebook page or contact Teesha at 801-636-1007.
