If you are passionate about local archaeological and cultural sites and want to help preserve them, your time has come. Dinosaur National Monument has partnered with the Utah Cultural Site Stewardship Program, which is a part of the Utah State Historic Preservation Office, for help in monitoring the over 1,000 recorded archaeological sites within the Monument’s boundaries. “This program connects volunteer Site Stewards with professional archaeologists from federal and state agencies to monitor and protect archaeological and cultural sites,” shares the announcement. “Site Stewards check in on their assigned site and provide accurate and up-to-date information to land managers about changes and potential threats to their assigned site.” To learn about volunteering as a Utah Cultural Site Steward, visit the Utah SHPO website https://ushpo.utah.gov.
