The Via Ferrata was an item of discussion on the Uintah County Commission meeting agenda on Tuesday. Uintah County Economic Development Director Travis Campbell reported that over 150 attended the Via Ferrata open house at Western Park on September 9th where County staff answered questions and solicited feedback on the potential project. Comments continued to be gathered until September 23rd. Of the 236 comments submitted to the County, 79 percent were in favor of the project, 19 percent were opposed, and 2 percent were neutral. Many members of the public attended Tuesday’s meeting, including those that were opposed. Community member Anna Billings gave public comment during the meeting and reported that 201 signatures had been gathered of community members desiring the Via Ferrata project be moved to another location.
