A Uintah County hosted open house on the Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata project welcomed advocates from varying perspectives on Monday as well as community members there to get educated. Outside the Western Park, opponents of the project were allowed to set up tables to share their information while inside Uintah County had displays with project details and County employees on hand to discuss and answer questions about the project. Public comment was welcomed and is still welcome. Residents are encouraged to share comments on the project through a digital form that will be open through Monday, September 23rd. A digital Project Development Packet is also available for download. Both can be linked to through this news story on BasinNow.com and through the ‘Latest News’ section of www.uintah.gov. Uintah County has shared that public input will help guide Uintah County in the development of a management plan that will provide for public access in the Ashley Gorge area and ensure proper safety and security measures are in place. The County has also emphasized that the Via Ferrata project is still in the planning stages and will not be open for use until the full Site Management Plan is approved and the full route installation is completed.
