A Vernal woman who entered the United States Capitol building during the events of January 6th, 2021, has been sentenced in a federal court. Susan Manwaring and her son Landon Manwaring traveled to Washington, D.C. to participate in rallies supporting Donald Trump and on January 6th they followed the crowd that marched to the U.S. Capitol and entered the building. Both were charged with Class B Misdemeanor charges of unlawful parading, demonstrating, or picketing in the Capitol and individually pleaded guilty. Neither were accused of violence or vandalism. Landon Manwaring was sentenced to 30 days in jail, 35 months of probation, and was ordered to pay $500 dollars in restitution. Susan Manwaring was sentenced on Tuesday to 3 years probation.
