The Rotary Club of Vernal is thinking ahead and gathering warm gear to share once the
cold weather hits and they need your help. The community is asked to donate gently used
coats and hoodies or consider when they buy a coat this fall for their needs that they buy
two and donate one to help support this year’s coat and hoodie drive. The Vernal Rotary
Club recognized the need for free coats and has been overseeing an annual coat drive for
16 years. Rotarian Cheri McCurdy says the need for coats in our community is greatly
underestimated and this year they are also gathering hoodies as many teens will not wear
a coat but will wear a hoodie. The donation drop off is located at Davis Food and Drug in
Vernal. All new and gently used coats and hoodies for children, teens, and adults are
greatly appreciated! There will be an event in November when those needing warm gear
can come and choose from the items gathered.
