When service changed at the Vernal Regional Airport from Skywest to Contour Airlines in early 2024, the hope of reestablishing flights to Denver was an expressed goal but not immediately possible. Well that goal has become a reality as the Vernal Regional Airport, along with Contour Airlines, announced this week that direct flights to Denver will start on April 1st. “This new service aims to increase connectivity and convenience for both business and leisure travelers,” shares the announcement. “Flights will operate 5 days a week to Denver (partnering with United), complementing 7 days a week service to Phoenix (partnering with American). This increased flexibility offers travelers more options in and out of Vernal.” The announcement also states that commercial flights into and out of Vernal Regional Airport are subsidized and made possible through the AEAS federal program.
