Vernal Man Charged After 15 Items Of Child Sex Abuse Material Found On Cell

A Vernal man has been charged after an investigation revealed illegal material on his cell phone. 22-year-old Joshua Jay Zook is facing charges stating that he allegedly “did knowingly possess or intentionally view child sexual abuse material.” According to the Probable Cause Statement, it was discovered on April 11th in Uintah County that Zook had at least 15 different images or videos of child sexual abuse material on his cell phone that depicted three different and identifiable minors. Zook was charged with 15 counts of 2nd Degree Felony Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. As of April 24th, he was not in police custody.
