A Vernal man was arrested in Sheffield City, Alabama after warrants were issued for his arrest. On Friday, AL.com reported that Damien Zachary Marshall had been arrested that day and was being held in the Sheffield City Jail awaiting extradition.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, Marshall allegedly made children perform sex acts. The investigation was performed by a Vernal PD officer who is also a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce. Forensic interviews were part of the investigation including an interview with Marshall.
Since the time of the interview, Marshall had left Utah and gone to Alabama where the arrest occurred after the warrants were issued. Marshall is charged with two counts of 1st Degree Felony Sodomy on a Child and one count of 2nd Degree Felony Sexual Abuse of a Child.
