The second phase of the Vernal Main Street Drainage Improvement Project is well underway. Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion reports that Phase 2 of the project is on schedule. Phase 2 is installing a new storm drain under Main Street between 500 West and 500 East in three sections. Section one of the work has been between 400 West and Vernal Avenue. Section two will install a new storm drain and replace the concrete roadway at Vernal Avenue and Main Street which is planned to be complete this fall. The final section of Phase 2 will be between Vernal Avenue and 500 East and will take place in the Spring of 2021. In a separate project, Bennion reports that the Chip Sealing project throughout Vernal City is complete with the exception of the paint striping which is taking a bit longer.
