A traffic control pole and lights in a Vernal intersection needed repair following a traffic accident on Sunday. According to the Vernal Police Department, the traffic accident took place at the intersection of 1355 East Highway 40. “Information received was that the accident involved a single vehicle which had hit a pole,” shares Vernal PD. “Upon arrival and through investigation it was determined that the vehicle had left the roadway and struck the traffic control pole, which subsequently disabled lights in all directions. The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the accident but is being investigated for driving under the influence. The driver’s name is being withheld at this time until the investigation concludes.” Temporary signs were in place while crews repaired the pole and lights on Sunday.
