Vernal City has announced the continuation of the downtown revitalization with 2 major construction projects underway. The Cobblerock Block improvements at the corner of 100 East and 100 South continue with Phase 2 of the project. This includes the area behind the businesses with the replacement of water and sewer lines, enhanced public spaces, and the addition of public parking, pedestrian walkway, lighting, and landscaping. Phase 3 of that project will include the burying of the powerlines in parts of downtown. The second project is the Vernal Avenue reconstruction from Main Street to 200 South which will start at the end of this month. “Vernal City secured a UDOT grant three years ago for the reconstruction of Vernal Avenue as part of the downtown revitalization plan,” shares the update. “This UDOT administered project includes a complete reconstruction of the road and sidewalk, with the addition of trees, street lights, diagonal parking and mid-block crossings. During the project, one lane of traffic in each direction will be open.” Vernal City appreciates the public’s patience during the projects.
