Vernal City Council members Corey Foley and Robin O’Driscoll visited the Evans Family Media studios to discuss what happened in 2024 in Vernal City. Council member Foley emphasized that a lot of effort has been made in the downtown revitalization in order to drive business downtown and improve property values. Council member O’Driscoll agreed that Vernal City had forward motion in 2024 and brought up the Facade grant as something that helped downtown businesses afford improvements to their properties. Construction on Cobblerock Block and on South Vernal Avenue were discussed and the use of grant funding to make improvements happen. “Our downtown is something I’m proud of and it has been so needed for such a long time,” shared Foley. “It took grant money to get it moving along and I think it is worth doing it.” Other topics during the interview include the Discovery Trail, Lamplighter Inn property, the Vernal Regional Airport, and more.
