by | Mar 22, 2021 | News | 0 comments

A program through the Federal Communications Commission is available to help local households struggling to pay for internet service and Vernal City wants locals to take advantage. Vernal City shares that the Emergency Broadband Benefit program offers up to $50 per month towards broadband services; $75 per month if you live on Tribal lands; and a one-time discount of up to $100 toward a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers. A household is eligible if one member of the household is part of the Lifeline program, receives free or reduced price school lunch, received a federal pell grant this year, or experienced substantial loss of income since February 29th, 2020.
