Snowy winter weather has been in short supply but that won’t last forever. Vernal City issued a press release on Wednesday urging Vernal residents to help keep streets and sidewalks safe and clear when it does come. Here’s what you need to know: 1. Keep Streets Clear – Avoid parking vehicles on streets during and after snowfall to allow plows to operate safely and efficiently. Parked vehicles delay snow removal and create hazards. 2. Shovel Sidewalks Responsibly – Help your neighbors by keeping sidewalks adjacent to your property clear of snow and ice. “Do not push snow into the street as this causes problems for your neighbors and doubles the work for street crews,” shares the announcement. “Pushing your snow into the street can also create dangerous conditions. Respect your neighbors by keeping your snow off their sidewalks and driveways.” All are encouraged to cooperate and help the snow removal teams work efficiently.
