The positive news continues to roll in as Vernal City received more good news for the downtown renovations. “The City received a grant award notice of $1 million dollars to be used in the downtown area,” shares Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion. “The Local Matching Grant was made possible by the state legislature using federal ARPA funds. The funds will be used by the City for water and sewer improvements in the downtown area.” Uintah County and Vernal City are both committed to the downtown renovations. They entered into an interlocal agreement outlining both parties’ support of the renovation of Downtown Vernal during a meeting at the end of November. The MOU noted funding contributions agreed to and was approved during the joint City/County meeting.
