Vernal City Police is seeking the public’s help in locating a wanted individual. 30-year-old Jason Durbin is wanted for failure to register as a sex offender. According to court documents filed this week, law enforcement conducted a compliance check on Durbin the first part of August and determined that the defendant had not lived at the address on the registry in over three weeks and no new address had been provided. Durbin was also reported to be using a telephone number that has not been included on the registry. Court documents also show that in May Durbin was charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender which is a 3rd Degree Felony and court proceedings have been ongoing since, resulting in the current warrant for his arrest. A warrant has also been issued for Durbin’s arrest in Duchesne County on a case of theft in August that he has failed to appear in court for as well.
