An important Vernal City project is now underway. Vernal City shared on Tuesday evening that work has begun to install a storm drain bypass at Main Street from 600 West to the green dinosaur. The project will also include replacement of a section of corroded storm drain pipe between 800 West and 700 West. Work is expected to occur Monday through Saturday from 6am to 8pm and there will be open trenches so caution is urged when traveling in the area. UDOT reports that two lanes will remain open in each direction whenever possible, though one eastbound lane may be intermittently closed. This is phase one of the project and is expected to be complete in late April. Phase two will be larger and is scheduled to begin in August, running from 400 West to 500 East.
