Transforming any downtown is a process, a process that Vernal City is fully engaged in. Among the upcoming projects will be the demolition of the old Basin laundry building on 100 East. During their February meeting, Vernal City Council discussed the building and approved a bid for asbestos removal which will take place prior to demolition. The heavy snow has also caused the back part of the roof to fail. The alley that leads into the parking area in the Cobblerock block has been blocked on the east side where it passes by the bulging building. Demolition is expected to occur in March and April.
