It’s spring so it’s time to get ready for road construction projects. Construction has begun in Vernal on 500 North between Vernal Avenue and 500 East. What is taking place? The road will be widened, and sidewalk, curb and gutter will be added to the north side of the road to improve pedestrian safety and mobility. Storm water drainage will be improved by adding catch basins on the north side of the street and the road surface will be improved with a 2-inch mill and overlay. BHI is the contractor on the project and it is anticipated to take 100 days to complete. The road will be open for the majority of the project duration, with some closures when paving operations occur. Vernal City appreciates patience during construction. This project is funded with a grant from UDOT and local funds.
