Construction continues on 500 North in Vernal City between Vernal Avenue and 500 East. Vernal City shared this week that underground utility work is expected to last through Friday requiring the road to be closed except to local traffic. The alternate route for traffic is 100 South and accommodations for school buses and mail delivery have already been made.
The project will see the road widened, and sidewalk, curb and gutter added to the north side of the road to improve pedestrian safety and mobility. Storm water drainage will be improved by adding catch basins on the north side of the street and the road surface will be improved with a 2-inch mill and overlay.
BHI is the contractor and the project is funded with a grant from UDOT and local funds.
