The Vernal Chamber Public Relations Committee presented a Certificate of Appreciation to a group improving the community since 1959. The Rotary Club of Vernal sponsors a long list of annual service projects, including Santa’s Community Effort, ‘Shop Local and Win’, planting trees, giving a dictionary to every 3rd grade child, and the winter coat drive. A unique project in 2022 was when the Rotary Club provided the local healthcare community with biliblankets to treat neonatal jaundice in newborns. The good done also expands beyond the Uintah Basin with international projects, including contributions to water well projects in Peru and Guatemala; medical clinic projects in Mexico, Peru, and Africa; sustainable fish harvesting in Africa; micro business loan projects in Africa and Peru; and more. Well done to the Vernal Rotary Club on the selfless service given.
