If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again! Friday’s attempt in Vernal to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as dinosaurs was a success. The record to beat was 682 and the new record set in Vernal on Friday is 804 dinosaurs. “THANK YOU to every single person who came out and dressed as a dinosaur!” shared the Uintah Special Service District 1 announcement. “From T-Rexes to raptors and everything in between, YOU showed up, suited up, and helped us CRUSH the record!” The dream to secure this Guinness World Record was first attempted a year ago. While it was clear there were more than enough dino-clad Vernal-ites to beat the record then, the attempt was foiled by some requirements that were not sufficiently met. This year, the newly cleared Lamplighter Block was used to spread out and organize the effort so as long as the dinosaurs showed up, the Guinness World Record would be awarded, and it was. Congratulations to all who were part of this successful effort!
