An exciting project is underway for the Ute Indian Tribe. The groundbreaking for the Tribal Solar Generation Facility in Ouray is taking place this week. “This project represents a significant milestone in the Tribe’s participation in energy development on its Reservation,” shares Business Committee Chairman Julius T. Murray, III. “Power generated from the facility will be distributed through the Tribe’s own transmission system used to supply critical electric energy to energy producer well pads.” The Chairman also says the Tribe is confident that this will be the first of many such collaborations with their industry partners that will create economic opportunities and benefits for the Tribe and the Uintah Basin as a whole.
