The Ute Boys Wrestling team did it again. They are back-to-back state champions! The Utes scored 276.5 points over Payson’s 265 points. Michael Alexander and Austin Richens are each individual state champions. Brady Merkley, Dustin Rhoades, William Price, and Gage Howard each took second place. The Girls Wrestling 5A State Tournament was also held and the Ute Girls Wrestling team were fierce competitors. Their team finished with an awesome second place with 165 points to Maple Mountain with 188.5. Taileigh Lujan earned an individual state title. Chanley Green earned second place in her weight class. Both tournaments were held at UVU. For those that can show their support, the Utes will parade through Vernal today at 11am, starting at Lowe’s and ending at Uintah High School.
