We might not think it when we are out exploring the wilderness of northeastern Utah but when it comes to wildlife habitat, not all vegetation is of equal value. There are certain types of plants, like the pinyon pine and Utah juniper, that overtake the resources for beneficial plants and sagebrush. To help the forest be in its healthiest of conditions, a joint effort of the Division of Wildlife Resources, Utah’s Watershed Restoration Initiative, and the Bureau of Land Management will be working now until December shredding the pinyon and juniper trees using a Bull Hog. The Bull Hog mulcher can be an attachment for loaders and excavators as well as a vehicle unto itself. Northeastern Utah is among the areas that will have vegetation removed.
