On May 23rd, 2023, Emiliano Morales was struck by a vehicle and killed in the Kum N’ Go parking lot in Rock Springs, Wyoming. His ex-girlfriend Rene Daniels was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Aggravated Homicide by Vehicle. Last week, 47-year-old Daniels sat through a 4-day jury trial in Sweetwater County which ended in her being found guilty on both charges. Daniel will not be eligible for bond while she awaits sentencing. Family and friends of the victim took to social media with the hashtag #JusticeForChicoMorales after the verdict was read.
