Roads throughout the Uintah Basin have their share of roadkill which is something the Division of Wildlife Resources and UDOT are urging all drivers to report on the Utah Roadkill Reporter app. The app was launched one year ago and is helping keep roads safe by helping officials respond quickly to remove carcasses as well as determine what areas need more wildlife fencing and crossings. During the app’s first year, a total of 3,843 animals were reported with over 3,600 of those being deer. Biologists estimate that the number is closer to 10,000 deer hit and killed annually. All are encouraged to download the free Utah Roadkill Reporter app to help in the pursuit of making safer roads, including here in the Uintah Basin.
