A Utah County man died on April 18th after a tragic accident while at Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation. According to a Utah State Parks news release, the man and a friend, both in their mid-to-late 70’s, were shore fishing at the reservoir at approximately
3:40pm
. “While the two were walking along the shore near the northwest side of the Freedom Bridge, the victim slipped and fell. He then rolled several feet down the bank and into the water,” shares the release. “The fishing companion was unable to assist the victim and called 911 for help. Members of the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, along with a Utah State Parks ranger. First-responders recovered the man, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.” After family was contacted and informed, officials released the name of the man as 79-year-old Peter Tomadakis of Spanish Fork.
