Utah Borders Open; Uintah County Sheriff on Rumors Stating the Opposite

The Utah-Colorado state line as well as all Utah borders remain open for travel despite rumors stating otherwise. Uintah County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Brian Fletcher personally drove to the state line and verified that there are NOT any roadblocks at the Colorado border. The Colorado Governor has issued a statewide “stay-at-home” order that prohibits anything except Necessary Travel for Coloradans. The Sheriff’s Office does remind the public that TriCounty Health Department has issued a travel advisory as there are confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Summit County, Utah; Sweetwater County, Wyoming, and throughout Colorado. This is an advisory and does not prohibit anyone from coming or leaving. The Sheriff’s Office also clarified some issues and concerns of Basin residents. There are no restrictions to interstate travel and the Sheriff’s Office verified that neither Utah nor Colorado are issuing travel documents. Any that exist are likely from individual companies to their employees.
