Update on Abbot Fire Burning in Indian Canyon

Utah Fire Info released information concerning the Abbott Fire in Duchesne County. The fire got its name from Abbott Dugway, the location where firefighters had to drive to be able to reach the fire.  The fire is burning on top of a ridge between the right fork and left fork of Indian Canyon, about 1.5 miles west of Highway 191 and about 2.5 miles south of Buck Knoll. As of Tuesday at 9:40am, the fire was at 52 acres and no estimate of containment was available. Firefighters from federal, state, local agencies including two hotshot crews, and air support, are still fighting the fire. As of 6:15pm on Tuesday, the Abbot Fire was reported at 60 percent contained. Officials also reported there is no threat to travelers on Highway 191.
