Homecoming is often remembered for the dresses, the football, and the dance. Well this year, the memories of homecoming and the memory of those that serve the community will unite as one. Union High School’s Homecoming Tailgate Party is being sponsored by Uintah Basin Healthcare. Together they have chosen the theme of the event as “Honoring our First Responders”. The goal is in part to recognize a hometown hero before the game that evening and in part to remember the lives of those responders 18 years ago. Residents were encouraged to nominate a local first responder whom they felt had made an impact on them personally or to the community. Nominations were accepted until Monday.
