Years of hard work and dedication to their craft came together for Union High School students who finished strong at their state competition over the weekend. In March, the Union Theatre Department was crowned the Region 13 Champs with a large group qualifying for State.
The UHSAA State Theatre Championship took place over the weekend on the Wasatch Front. It was a nail biter up until the very end with Union receiving 2nd place out of 15 teams and only missing 1st place by 1 point.
Of 40 pieces performed, Union received 29 Superior medals. Kailani Hadlock was awarded 1st place in Dramatic Monologue. McKinley Rasmussen and Jackson Hawley received 1st place in Contemporary Scene. Asher Tomlinson and Jaron Mathews received 1st place in Pantomime. Asher Tomlinson received Best Supporting Actor in a 1 Act Play and a group of 7 students won Best Ensemble.
