The Union High School baseball team worked hard to have a successful season and brought their A-game to the state tournament. Well it all paid off and the Union baseball team is the 3A State Champions after beating Canyon View with a score of 9 to 3. When summing up his team, Coach Matt Labrum quotes Donovan Mitchell stating, “The strength of our team is OUR Team!” They also keep the right focus with something they call PTS: Program Team Self. “These coaches and players played for each other and we had different heroes every game!” shares Coach Labrum. “We won as a team and lost as a team but we always learned and wanted to get better!” The community was thrilled to welcome the team home in style on Saturday as they rolled through town on a firetruck after their championship win.
