The Department of Workforce Services has provided updated unemployment numbers. August’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the state of Utah is estimated at 2.5 percent, up from 2.4 percent. Approximately 45,800 Utahns are unemployed and Utah’s July unemployment rate is unrevised at 2.4 percent. Daggett County reports an unemployment rate of 3.7 percent. Duchesne County reports an unemployment rate of 3 percent, up from 2.8 percent, and Uintah County reports an unemployment rate of 3.4 percent, up from 3.3 percent. The August national unemployment rate moved up from 3.5 percent to 3.8 percent. The next unemployment update from the Department of Workforce Services is scheduled for October 23rd.
