Unemployment rates for Basin counties continue to head in the right direction. According to data released Tuesday by the Department of Workforce Services, Duchesne County lowered by a tenth of a percent to 5.1 percent, Uintah County also lowered by a tenth of a percent to 5.6 percent, and Daggett County remained at 5.2 percent. This means that in the last year Duchesne County has lowered its unemployment by 2.6 percent, Uintah County has lowered its unemployment by 2.7 percent, and Daggett County has increased unemployment by 1 percent. The state unemployment is the same as one year ago at a steady 3.2 percent and national unemployment has decreased by half a percent landing at 4.1 percent. As a whole, employment in the state of Utah is healthy, adding 42,100 jobs to the economy since November 2016.
